Welcome to the Newest Hawaiian Shirt Friday Ever

Friday, November 14th, 2008

Aloha everybody and welcome to the brand spanking new HSFriday.com! The redesign has been a long time coming and I’m so glad to be able to unveil it today. I’ve added a lot of stuff so look around and click on things. The purpose of this site is to bring HSFers together and I hope that is facilitated better now. Let us know what you think!

To christen our new duds I bring to you a review of my new duds from Mad Gringo. Here’s how this went down. Mad Brian from MG contacted me and offered a coupon for our users. I got stoked and said I was all up for it and would love to have a shirt to review. Next thing you know Mad Brian flung a parcel at me and that is what I’ll review today. Mad Gringo is not sponsoring or paying for this review or the callouts on the site. HSFriday pumps Mad Gringo because we love Mad Gringo, let’s just get that straight. Ok so anyway…

Mad Gringo says that the minute you open the box you know you’ve met a new friend, so I was pretty stoked when my box came. The box itself was pretty cool with Mad Gringo printed nice and big on it and adorned with little travel stamps that say things like “precious cargo” and “go slow or die”. This is a sweet touch.

I cracked open the box and saw this sweet burlap sack. “These guys know how to send a shirt” I thought. They don’t just throw it in there, you can tell it was placed. With love.

I excitedly opened up the sack to find my treasure. I have to be honest and say that I was disappointed at this point when I found only a t-shirt instead of a Hawaiian Shirt. Still, it was one of the sweet logo shirts that I wanted anyway. I hastily whipped it on and was instantly transported to paradise. I’m serious, from the moment I put it on it felt like I had worn it for years and it was my favorite shirt. And it is my favorite now. It is so comfortable that I find myself wanting to wear it every day. The quality of the shirt was enough to show me that the Mad Gringo does not mess around and that their Hawaiian Shirts must be mind blowingly amazing.

Also in the bag I found a few stickers, a sweet flip-flop bottle opener keychain thing (that’s actually what it’s called), a catalog, and a few papers of documentation. One of the papers was a signed sheet certifying that Mad Brian packed and shipped the box himself. Dude, Brian, Thanks man.

So that’s the end of my story. It’s a short one but it was quite an experience. And it was awesome enough that I am ordering my new Mad Gringo Hawaiian Shirt today. And you should too. Head on over to Mad Gringo and use this coupon code, made specially for you, faithful HSFer: hsfriday1008

That code will grant you 15% your total purchase. Awesome right? Ok this post is way too long for a HSF, you should be goofing off and relaxing instead of reading. Here’s a sweet uke vid to bring things to a close. p34c3 and m4h4l0!

This song title is kind of how I’m feeling about Mad Gringo shirts: I Could Easily Fall (In Love With You):
